TRYON HAD A TOUGH FINISH BUT still managed a top 5 finish at the NGA/Hooters Tour event at Savannah Lakes. In 3rd place after 3 rounds, Ty finished with a 1-over-par 73 to drop a couple of spots. He ended up 10 shots behind the eventual winner, Camillo Villegas.

Ty seems to be playing some better golf since his win. Good stuff, keep it up! :)

Does anyone know if Ty is trying to qualify for the US Open?

[3] On May-08-2005, Mike posted:

why doesn't this dude just hang it up ? His 15 minutes of fame are over. He's NOT a good golfer. The closest he'll get to being a pro is to be a club pro at the local public links.

Stop the bleeding Ty....go to college or learn a trade.

[4] On May-08-2005, CJ posted:

He must have some talent thou if he got thru Q-School at age 17.

This message is to Mike who posted on May 8. You have got to be the biggest fuckin idiot in the world in order to post a message like that. Obviously you don't play golf because if you did you would know that Ty has got all kinds of game. You don't qualify for the PGA at age 17 through Q school unless you got mad skills. Just wait, Ty's time will come, he's been playing great lately and it won't be long before we see him back on tour. Mike if your dumbass didn't know, the winner of the last event @ Savannah lakes just secured a spot on the Nationwide tour for the rest of the season. You don't compete with guys like this unless you have a lot of game. Great playing Ty, keep it up!

[6] On May-28-2005, Jason posted:

I think Mike's point was that whatever game Ty had, he lost. No one would argue that David Duval was one of the best (he was ranked number one in the world, you'll recall), but he lost it.

Also, stop pretending you're hip with your "urban" jargon. You're obviously some idiot suburbanite white kid.

Happy Birthday to Ty for June 2!!!

[8] On Jun-06-2005, JK posted:

My question is, why is Mike even here? Is it so not obvious that this is a site dedicated to Ty Tryon for those that support him?

So my advice for Mike is: STFU and GTFO my internet!

As for Ty, he's still young and financially sound, so he can afford to search for that lost talent and hope for a comeback. I know I would.

I am not a Ty hater by any means but used to be a golf pro. Stating the obvious: He has missed cuts roughly 70% of the time. He has gone from medalist in Q-school to the Hooters Tour. There is no possible way he can be covering expenses so he is a bad investment for someone. I hope the kid comes back it would be a great story. I fear that his story is going to be that the "next Tiger Woods" flounders around on mini tours for a few years before the money dries up. I remember all the hype around this kid and I think there was way too much pressure put on him early. Good luck Ty!! Fariways and greens my friend

I still think this guy can make it back to the PGA Tour. He is a class player and I think he will succeed in the game.

Fuck what everyone says.Ty is a fucking awesome player!!

Ty finished T33 in the most recent Hooters Tour event the "First City Classic". He shot rounds of 71,67,76,67, and earned $ 1,112,50

Anyone know how I can contact Ty?. Like address etc?

Ive got not time for Ty. I agree with Mike get a trade and make some honest money, and stop this charade. Man you aint got it anymore....Wake up you loser...

Ty ... only you can make your talent happen, a couple of good events on the Hooters Tour might not be what you had in mind, but for now, it's a start for new found confidence and hopefully, brilliance!

Just a note to those who want Ty to give it up...you must remember that to have a dream, and to give it up before it has totally been blown, is virtually impossible. If he doesn't go on and continue until he decides he has had enough, then he will always be wondering what it might have been like. Remember, Bruce Fleisher...great amateur player in the 1960's, tried and failed the PGA Tour, in the 70's..then, at the age of about 45, came back and won an event on the regular PGA tour and now has been one of the best Senior Tour players for several years.
No one but Ty can make the decision to quit. That/s the way it should be.

[18] On Jul-28-2005, Ryan Norton posted:

If he doesn't show progress in his game, he probably should give it up. I know it's harsh to have to give up on a dream but sometimes you have to grow up. Hindsight is 20-20, but it probably would have been better to play in college and build up a base of experience. It worked well enough for Tiger.

[19] On Jul-28-2005, Mike J. posted:

Ty is young. Most pro golfers don't hit their stride and make real money until they are in their 30's. That's a long way away. I wish him luck. I wonder if you asked him to do it over again, would he work on his game more in college and then go pro. That's what my son is going to do.

[20] On Jul-29-2005, Reggus posted:

I just wish Ty all the luck. I know he can be a successful player. Goodluck Ty!!

I think the kid sucks also. Hey Mike you know what is going on. He is playing in the Hooters tour. He is lucky that his Daddy is rich. HAHAHA

[23] On Aug-07-2005, Reggus posted:

It sure would be nice if someone updated this more often. Also Ty hasn't played for weeks, whats going on?

[24] On Aug-07-2005, Anon posted:

If Ty hasn't played for weeks, just what kind of an update do you think ought to be posted? If there is no news, there is no news.

What's with all the hate mail for Ty? This kid accomplished alot at a very young age and was thrown into some situations he might not have been ready for. I had the pleasure of being around Ty a few times working as an instructor in Orlando. He's very humble and extremely easy to talk to. Why would someone want to put this kid down. I can tell you that Ty is still loaded, has tons of talent, and will have it made for years to come. Can you say the same?

What is Ty up too these days?. He hasnt played for months. Maybe hes taking time off from golf.

[28] On Sep-10-2005, DB posted:

Craig for being a club pro your an idiot....I dont think Ty will have to worry about funds drying up when he got well over 5 million right when he became the youngest player to make it through Q school. He can dick around on whatever tour he wants for the rest of his life. Plus working with David Leadbetter all those years does not cost a penny nor does flying all over the country for AJGA as a junior so obviously I dont think Ty's family needs to worry about money either. Think before you make a stupid comment. Your just pissed cause he was richer then you will ever be at 17 and also that he gets to play professional golf and you were never good enough so you were stuck making sure the old folks in the bunker club at your course had a wet towel when they came in off the course. Give me a break.
