TRYON IS ATTEMPTING TO REGAIN his PGA Tour card this week at the 1st stage of Q-School. He shot 72 in the 1st round and is in T40th position.

UPDATE: A pair of 71's in rounds 2 and 3 have left Ty in T38th position - 4 shots out of advancing with only one round remaining.

UPDATE #2: Another 71 moves Ty up only 2 spots, meaning he doesn't advance and won't gain his PGA Tour card for 2005. Because of his poor play this year, he'll likely have only conditional status (if that) on the Nationwide Tour in 2005. In all probability, he'll be relegated to the Canadian Tour, Europe, or something like the Hooters Tour for much of 2005.

A Final Round 71 left Ty 4 shots out tied for 36th. Thus ends this phase of his professional career. I think it's pretty safe to say that going pro at 17 was a mistake.
Beware all of you good young golfers, lots of lessons to be learned here.

I wish Ty well in his future and hope he can back to the bigtour one day.

Good thing he turned down the 1 mill to play in the Dubai classic a couple of years back.

I think that we all saw what happened in the Ryder Cup. So the comment about being "relagated" to the European Tour I think would come as a big insult to all the players who play there. I think Ty's Golf would improve greatly if he could gain a European Tour card (IF being the opperative word).
