ANOTHER DISASTER OF A TOURNAMENT FOR Tryon at the
Deutsche Bank Championship. A first round 75, that featured only 2 birdies against a double bogey and 4 bogies has been followed up by a round even worse. Thru 14 holes, Tryon is 10 over par for the day and is in 3rd to last place. With three more double bogies and a triple bogey on his card to far, he's well on pace to have more
doubles & others than
birdies this week.
UPDATE: He managed to finish 2nd to last. He hit only 13 greens and 13 fairways in two days. The Nationwide Tour is looking more and more likely.

TRYON LOSES IN PLAYOFF AT The Trend Micro Champions Challenge on Tuesday - a
team event that he played with partner Andy Miller.
Ty Tryon stood there waiting for his birdie putt to move.
Tryon's 14-footer teetered at the edge of the hole. The ball was so close to the edge of the hole that another coat of paint would have been enough to get the ball to drop in. It was so close that if someone in the gallery had sneezed, it would have fallen in.
While Tryon waited for a gust of wind and used body language to get the ball to drop, a spectator yelled, "Get in the hole!" but the ball sat there on the last blade of grass, refusing to budge.

ANOTHER POOR DAY FOR TRYON and he's going home early. He finally made a few birdies (4), but more than offset it with bogies
on his way to a 76. No word yet on what his next event will be.

WHAT THE HELL? IN A TOURNAMENT that requires players to make bucket loads of birdies to have a prayer at winning, Tryon went 1-18. One single birdie - and that came on his last hole of the day after playing himself right into last place The only thing he had an abundance of were bogies - 5 of them. And double bogies - 3 of those. He finished with an 82. Eighty-freaking-two! He's currently
26 'points' behind leader Charles Howell III - thats 13 birdies worth of points. Somebody, please tell me he's injured, or sick, or something.

TRYON HAS CONFIRMED ENTRY INTO A COUPLE OF more events. He'll be playing in next week's PGA Tour event -
The International and also in a little silly season event created by Johnny Miller, the
Champions Challenge in Salt Lake City.

IF YOU DON'T MAKE BIRDIES ON THE weekend, you are going to go backwards - and thats exactly what happened to Tryon today. Only three birdies over his last 27 holes and an even par 72 on Sunday dropped him from the mid 20's all the way to a
tie for 61st place with British Open champion Ben Curtis. He earned $8,560 for the event.

A DISAPPOINTING ROUND 3 FOR TRYON at the Buick Open. After four birdies over his opening 8 holes, Ty was at 9 under for the tournament and climbing the leaderboard. But bogies at his 9th, 11th and 12th holes put him back to
6 under for the tournament and a 71 for the day.

TRYON IS CRUISING ALONG IN THE 2nd round of the Buick Open. He's currently 3 under par thru 17 holes for the day, and 5 under for the tournament. The cut line is projected to be at 2 under, so its looking like he'll survive thru the weekend.
UPDATE: Bad weather has stopped play and Ty still has one hole to complete. I'll update again when he's finished.
UPDATE #2: Par on the last hole gave Ty a bogey free 69. Only being three shots out of the top 10 gives him a great chance to cash a big check this weekend.
UPDATE #3: Ty apparently spent the time during the weather delay
sleeping in his car.
While most of the players stayed in the locker room watching the Weather Channel during the delay, Ty Tryon found a different way to pass the time.
"I just took a nap in my car," he said. "I didn't know what it was (when the horn sounded). I thought it was some sort of security alert. I had no idea it was a weather alert. Seriously, I asked the guy 'cause I had no idea. We were totally blown away."
