Pros don't shoot 86's. I hope Ty can learn how to play out on the Nationwide Tour next year so when he comes back to the PGA he'll be prepared and ready to play with the big boys.

I don't remember his exact score on day 3, but I believe it was in the low 70's (like 72 or so). If I am not mistaken, it was one of the better scores of anyone that day. In fact, I think he played better than most of the players on two out of three days! Unfortunately, when he has a bad day, it is a really bad day.
As to Dayne's question, there is a recent article out there that indicates that Ty is on conditional status on the Nationwide Tour.

I'm far from an expert on this, so freely correct me if I am wrong, but my research leads me to believe that a)a conditional player has to Monday qualify at Nationwide tournaments until he can get into one, and then by winning money he can move up on the Nationwide ranking list (they regularly re-rank the players). Once he is ranked high enough, then he can play any Nationwide tournament he wants. OR b) He can get a sponsor's exemption into a Nationwide tournament or c)If enough higher ranked Nationwide players choose not to play a certain tournament, he plays as an alternate. Again, if he wins more money than others, then he moves up on the ranking list and, once high enough on the rankings, can get into all the Nationwide tournaments. This is my best understanding, and I had no understanding before today, so Bret please correct me if I am wrong. P.S. The Nationwide tour seems to be a more difficult place to play than I had first imagined.

You are correct about Conditional status - though usually Conditional players don't attempt to Monday qualify because they can get into enough events thru method C that you detailed.
That said, my understanding is that he has FULL status on the Nationwide Tour, not Conditional. Unfortunately, that info came from the Orlando Sentinel and they've since archived the story it came from.
I'll send an email to their golf writer and see if I can get more info from him.
