IT CAN'T GET MUCH WORSE THAN THIS. TRYON goes 72-78 in rounds two and three and misses the cut in the Las Vegas Invitational by a whopping 18 shots. He trails the leader by a massive 32 shots. Just how far back is he? With scoring as easy as it gets in Vegas, Ty could shoot 59 each of the next two days and still trail the leader by 20 strokes. Of course, that isn't going to happen since he won't get to play on the weekend, but it does give you some idea of how poor his play was this week relative to the rest of the field.

He again not only misses the cut, but finishes near the bottom of the field - ahead of only Tom Barranger and tied with the suddenly lowly David Duval.

For the three days, he made only 10 birdies total. The current leader - Steve Flesch - made 11 on the first day alone. Mix in 15 bogies and 2 doubles and you've got yourself a nice little disaster.

I think its about time Ty starts thinking of Qschool again. It just doesn't seem like he has the game, or maybe his health isn't what it should be. Either way, its fairly obvious he isn't going to keep his card.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Bill.
Ty is capable of playing better; maybe he should have waited until he was at 100% before coming back.

He should rest until next year and go back thru Qschool.

I think Ty's been thinking of going to Qschool for a few months now..he knows hes most likely going to have to go and I dont see how trying to play anyway is such a bad idea..more experience will only help him

As a followup of my first comment, I think the last comment makes sense. He may as well play as long as he can, I agree that the experience will help in the long run. Besides that, who knows, maybe one week yet he'll get his game together and do something special. I think too, that working with David Ledbetter will help in the long run, and perhaps thats one of the problems right now. I would think that his swing has been changed by Mr. Ledbetter, and its taking some time to get used to it, just like Tiger has done in the past.

He's been with Leadbetter since age 7, so I doubt that's the problem. But I think you're right that his game has changed a lot since he turned pro, he's gotten a lot better, it's just not translating.

I didn't realize he had been with Leadbetter that long. I wish the best for him, and wouldn't it be nice to have a game like that at that tender age? He'll be fine in the long run.

Mercury News: This website says that Ty just bought a new "Town" house for $345,000 in Orlando. He must plan on being on the tour next year.

Or his parents just want him out of the house. :)

They are a well-to-do enough family that he'd probably be buying that home regardless of his status on tour.
