I FIND IT VERY INTERESTING THAT WHILE WRITERS OPEN their stories about Ty Tryon [recent photo] with lines like this - In a way, even though he enjoys the attention, Ty Tryon is almost relieved to be treated like every other rank-and-file pro on the practice range at the Honda Classic. - he continues to be the only 'rank-and-file' pro thats getting consistent personality pieces written about him in major publications. If, as Steve Elling puts it, the Ty-perbole has ended, then why is he still writing about him?

And don't tell me its because its a local story. Orlando is a big place with lots of other local sports stories for Elling to cover instead of some 'rank-and-file' PGA Tour pro. No, despite his troubles since turning professional, there's still something about Tryon that makes people believe that he's just about to break free of this slump and start to play well.

The Sun-Sentinel also has an article about Tryon from the Honda Classic. Friday, Tryon joked that to rival the tight, bright attire worn by kiddie contemporaries Charles Howell III and Aaron Baddeley, he might start sporting baggy clothes and turning his visor to the side. "Maybe I should come out and wear some really crazy stuff: ghetto golf wear," Tryon quipped. Or maybe a little anonymity is what Tryon needs. "I really didn't know it would be this hard," Tryon said. "I didn't know I could get so much better and still struggle to make the cut."

How do you know that his people read this? I've been waiting for Ty to jump on the Howell/Baddeley fashion band wagon, but maybe with some tamer colors. haha
