A SECOND STRAIGHT 71 ADVANCES Tryon to the weekend and pushed him up to
T27th place. Three bogies on the front nine were offset by a pair of birdies and an eagle on the par five 13th.

FINALLY! A GOOD START FOR TRYON IN the Casio World Open has him at
1-under-par and sitting in
32nd place, only four shots behind the leaders. Ty's round included two birdies and just one bogey that came when he 3-putted the par 4 seventh hold. Just as an aside; because of the timing and location of this event, I wouldn't expect too much media coverage here in the US.

WELL, THE SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE HAS more guts than me; they've already
pre-ordained Tryon as the likely 'Come-back Player of the Year' on the PGA Tour next year. Considering that his level of play has been rather consistently poor since Q-School - I have my doubts.
Also, Ty had a few words about his past year on tour:
"That was crazy, absolutely crazy," Tryon said. "I couldn't really focus on my golf game, I couldn't even get around. It was just kind of overwhelming." Next year's craziness for Tryon will being in January at the Sony Open in Honolulu.
