APPARENTLY TRYON HAS BEEN trying to find a way to circumvent the PGA Tour age-restriction policy, but it has failed. Tryon ... filed his Q-School paperwork and entry fee in August, before the age restriction was formally ratified in September. Tryon might have had a case had he pursued the issue legally, but it would have caused bad blood with the tour -- where the kid hopes to play for, say, the next three decades. As a result, he'll be limited to 7-12 events via sponsor's exemption prior to his 18th birthday on June 2. I doubt he would have planned on playing more than that anyway considering his school schedule - he's already turned down an invitation to the Bob Hope Desert Classic.
