WITH ONLY ONE ROUND REMAINING, Tryon is not in a good positition to finish inside the top 35 and earn his PGA Tour card. Another day of mediocre play, ending with a 2-under score of 70, has seen Ty fall to a tie for 50th place, three shots back of the magic number. His day can be summarized by his experience on the back nine: He had to take an unplayable lie in the tall weeds on his 14th hole and took bogey, failed to birdie either par 5 -- that's giving up a stroke with his length -- then missed the short birdie putt on his 17th hole. To move up inside the top 35, he's likely going to need to shoot 65 or better in tomorrows final round. PGATour.com also has this audio interview w/ Tryon available.
