Crappy Crappie Fishing

Went crappie fishing with Taylor this past Monday since the high tempertature was 60+ degrees over near Howard, KS - it turned into quite a day.

To get my boat over, I first had to buy new tires for my trailer (I just bought the whole wheel assembly) and then come home and swap them out with my current crap tires (one blew last time I went fishing). So after the 2 tires are changed, we head out a bit later than expected and when we get to the lake, there is a good bit more wind that had been predicted.

Oh well, so we swing the rig around and back everything up to the boat ramp. When we get out of the Xterra though, the back right tire has been punctured and is leaking. So I take the trailer off of the X, change the tire, and 40 minutes later we are finally fishing.

The crappie weren't biting very well - we only caught 2, but the bass were more active so it wasn't a total bust. The bigger fish below was Taylor's 2nd bass of the day (I'm holding it because she won't hold a bass by the mouth yet), and on the very next cast I caught the monster in the bottom picture.
