Celebrating Suicide

I'm really suprised at how much the media, and some bloggers too, are fawning over Hunter Thompson after his suicide. What suprises me even more is what his family did after finding him dead.
The literary champ was sitting in his command post kitchen chair, a piece of blank paper in his favorite typewriter, dead of a self-inflicted gunshot through the mouth hours earlier.

But a small circle of family and friends gathered around with stories, as he wished, with glasses full of his favored elixir — Chivas Regal on ice.
The article then follows with a bunch of crap that this suicide was his ultimate act of strength, he went out on top, yada yada.

Please. Its a chickenshit way out for a man who's career peaked 30 years ago.
