Little help please? I bought an ATI TV Wonder Pro this weekend and it works great - for about 45 minutes. Then the picture degrades into mostly black and white and a bit wavy. At first, I thought it might be a signal problem, but if that was it, the picture would come back to normal when the signal cycled back up - but that never happens.

Instead, I think it may be a heat related issue - where the tuner is getting hot after X number of minutes of operation and causing the picture to degrade.

Anybody heard of this problem elsewhere? I've tried Google and I'm not finding anything similar. And assuming it is a heat issue, what would your suggestion be? Add another case fan? Put a heat sink on the tuner? Put a fan on the tuner?

As much as Stacy is playing GTA in our house, something like this is bound to happen should somebody break in.

How to re-gift, without getting caught

I had to order a new MS Trackball Explorer from Amazon today since nobody here in Wichita seems to carry the damn thing. Best Buy, Circuit City, Office Max, Office Depot - no, no, no and nope. The closest any of them had to a replacement was the newer - and suckier - MS Trackball Optical.

Now, those 2 items sound similar, but they operate completely differently. With the Explorer, the trackball is on top of the device and is operated by your index finger (I use my index and middle finger in tandem); on the Optical, the trackball is on the side and is operated by your thumb. I ask you, why would anyone prefer to move the trackball with their thumb? Its your shortest finger, and has the least range of mobility - meaning that in one motion, you cannot move the cursor as far across the screen w/ your thumb as you could with your index finger. And your index finger has better developed fine motor skills, meaning that your movements will be more accurate as well.

The screenshots for Gran Turismo 4 look amazing. I was hoping to pick this up for Christmas, but I see that it now has a March 2005 release date. Dammit.
