Kos Hits Bottom, Gets Bigger Shovel
Feeling the heat (see original post), Kos backtracks in classic John Kerry style. I really did feel something for those dead americans before I rhetorically spit on their graves.
Of course, this retraction (sort of) only comes after his original bile has been sent tumbling conveniently down the memory hole (screenshot of post).
I also quite enjoy him admitting that he lies to his readers:
And even if you do believe it, is it any better than his previous position. That somehow these folks deaths aren't important or aren't worthy of mourning and compassion because they left their families behind and volunteered to be there? Because they are paid better than actual miltiary folks?
Absolutely disgusting. I'm almost stunned that he would be smart enough to figure out that the 1st post was over the top, yet stupid enough to turn around and write something so idiotic.

My language was harsh, and, in reality, not true. Fact is, I did feel something. That's why I was so angry. - KosBut, as Oliver says, Its not the crime, its the coverup.
I was angry that five soldiers -- the real heroes in my mind -- were killed the same day and got far lower billing in the newscasts. - KosDoes anybody believe that? One paragraph after admitting he lied about his own feelings, we get this. Please. The only reason these Blackwater folks got such huge media play is because of what happened to their bodies after they were killed. You know that, Kos knows that. So why's he pretending he doesn't.

I was angry that these mercenaries make more in a day than our brave men and women in uniform make in an entire month. I was angry that the US is funding private armies, paying them $30,000 per soldier, per month, while the Bush administration tries to cut our soldiers' hazard pay. I was angry that these mercenaries would leave their wives and children behind to enter a war zone on their own violition. - KosOur entire miltiary is made up of people who volunteered to leave behind wives/children/parents/friends to serve their country - in a war zone if need be.
Absolutely disgusting. I'm almost stunned that he would be smart enough to figure out that the 1st post was over the top, yet stupid enough to turn around and write something so idiotic.
