Violence Prevention or No Self Defense

Trying to convince kids not to defend themselves when attacked is whats now passing for "violence prevention" programs in schools. While most fourth and fifth graders say they would tell a teacher or another adult if one of their peers hit them, some say they would hit back, according to the results of a new study. They should hit back - and then go tell the teacher.

...nearly 4 out of every 10 students said there was gang activity in their school that made them feel unsafe. Further, a small minority of students reported carrying a knife, gun, club or other weapon at least one time during the previous month.

77% of school administrators don't think violence is a major concern.
