Seen But Not Heard
Fitting right in with Wrongforum's entry about free speech in schools, a West Virginia student suspended for trying to start an anarchy student club and for and for wearing T-shirts with messages opposing U.S. military action in Afghanistan. Lots of people are concerned that guys like John Ashcroft are going to cut back on our civil liberties - meanwhile little dictator-type school administrators all over the country are the ones we should be worried about. Having an entire generation of kids grow up in an environment where you aren't free to act on our liberties will make it that much easier for those liberties to be taken away at some point. Afterall, what are we losing if we aren't free to excersize those rights anyway.
