Our Horrible Children
School is almost
out for the summer, so why not end with a bang. Remember the kid who was convicted of two felonies because of a spitwad gone wrong? Well, sentencing hasn't taken place yet, but C.W. Nevius thinks this kid deserves a good scaring - but not youth detention. He also makes the spitwad incident seem much more malicous than any other description I've read.
About 40 high school students - mostly male freshmen - were suspended for comments written in a 'pass around journal'. The school considered the journal a form of harassment. "That's not sexual harassment," Sandelin said Friday in regard to the journal entry. "That's his opinion. ... My son did not physically speak to or touch this girl."
And a student banned from his graduation ceremony over some dead fish had to sue and promise to replace the fish to get reinstated. The school claims he killed the fish purposely, but the kid claims it was an accident.
